This is a poem about internal conflict.
Crying, bleeding;
Wanting, needing;

In the fire I stay, screaming.
Oh God, please let me be dreaming.

This is no dream; no dream I'm in.
The air smells of burning skin.

I can't breathe, I can't see.
Why, oh why is this happening to me?

Have I really been all that bad?
Have I really made everyone around me all that sad?

Why must I be punished more?
Is it not enough that, earlier, I lay bleeding on the floor?

I punished myself. Slit my wrists, and down I fell.
So why, oh why, did I end up in hell?

Crying, bleeding;
Wanting, needing.
