A poem about how you need to let go and not always be what is expected of you
Perfection is a curious word
Different definitions are often heard

To be the best of the best
Never be wrong or second guessed

It takes a lot to live up to this name
Some see it as hard, some as a game

But to live this way for all your life
Brings certain pain and awful strife

Always expected to do it right
All through the morning until the night

I feel it tear and take a part of me
Into deeper parts I cannot see

Live and deal is what I'm told
But to just move on is way too bold

I sit alone as time draws near
Peacefully crying silent tears

How can I cure this cancer of the heart?
When the reason why is mostly my part?

The only thing that seems fair to do
Is share my experience with others who

Are feeling judged to be the best
They sense that pressure below their chest

So exhale deep
And let the sorrow creep

Right out of your body
And let it sleep

Be brave, Stand strong
And just before too long

Remember about the perfection
Take time for reflection

Look ahead, without any fears
And peacefully cry those silent tears
