About a person I once knew who acted how everyone wanted him to be instead of himself.
Riding on angels wings
Yet darkness is all I can see
Reaching out flames lick at my hand
Who is this man with angel wings?
Bury my head in the soft comfort of black feathers
These he said are my wings
Yet I locate a seam
So I pull the thread so I could see
Why are you pulling at my angel wings?
Fighting and beating hard
I remove one of his wings
Pounding to the ground with a scream
Right after I removed the second wing
He asked me why I did this terrible thing
You try to be someone else
Something greater than what you see
But you’re still are a wonderful thing
Even without your beautiful wings
