This is about finding true love.
I always kept a journal,
First dates, kisses, and such,
I wrote down all my exciting times,
Even though there wasn't much.
Every night before I went to bed,
And before I said my prayers,
I decorated pages in my book,
And wrote down all my cares.
Pink hearts with arrows through them,
Hugs and kisses and a boy plus me,
Next day tear drops falling down,
What I wrote I could no longer see.
Page after page and book after book,
Night after night of my dreams,
True love I'd thought I'd always found,
True love eluded me it seems.
Then one day I met a man,
And my heart felt different somehow,
The things I thought so important then,
Felt less important now.
We shared our tears and laughter,
We shared our secrets too,
We shared our hopes for the future,
And when he asked, I said, I do.
One night I opened my book of dreams,
I couldn't believe what I saw,
There was nothing written on any page,
There was nothing written at all.
At the very back of my book, a note
Was taped, to you from me it said,
Please read this note before you write,
And before you go to bed.
This note is written from your heart,
It's been happening for ages,
Until true love came into your life,
Your dreams were empty pages.
Now write your hopes and wishes,
And write your dreams down too,
The empty pages will fill up fast,
Because the love you found is true.
