A poem about the difficulty of travelling our own paths.
Running in circles to reach my goal
Helpless to stop the mountain from crumbling
down upon me
Rocks shower my head
making the path hard to navigate

Time shortens with each step
my goal fading farther into the background
I struggle to make it to the end of the road
to perhaps turn to a different road

The sun rises
I see the road does not change
stretches in the same direction
forever it seems

I lost sight of the goal
have no clue what it was
Changing it will make it dissappear entirely
erasing my intentions completely

Perhaps if I made a simpler goal
like reaching the top of the next hill
Or maybe making a new path off of the road.
