Balloon

                                                          Old Hull. July 11, 2006.


Suddenly, a balloon.
Look! There! Over that roof !
See the stripes, the basket?
Approaching. Overhead. Wave!

Receding, seems to fall,
Hides behind a house,
Reappears, drifts, shrinks,
Fades, imperceptibly, into the blue-gray haze...

Gone now.
