This poem is about being let down by someone who is caught living the same lie
Your typical words fall flat on the floor

The ones I have heard again from before

The same satire of a washed up man

who gave up, stopped trying, and couldn't stand

You lost yourself in the lines

of broken promises and repeated whines

behind the mask of what they see

there is the boy I knew, lying to me

Old words and promises fall to the floor

morals and love being checked at the door

Memories slowly wearing away

the faith of a man dying each day

Caught in the dreams left from then

Lying and crying again and again

Never changing repeated sins

Living the same lie now you lived then
