Death of a pet
You had a little dog once
I never knew his name
And even though you scolded him
He loved you just the same

Whenever you were feeling blue
And troubles lay near by
His paw would touch against your side
And never would you cry

Each night he'd lie upon your bed
Against your small chilled feet
He loved his mistress very much
How quiet did he sleep

But then as the years passed by
His limbs grew very weak
One day the fellow couldnt get up
He knew he'd reached his peak

His little tail was wagging though
And his eyes were very red
Then he gave his last small breath
On her lap he placed his head...
