i dress myself in mystery
         just aching to be found out
         to be discovered

i wash myself in irony
         just needing to be optimistic
         to be sincere

i lose myself in insecurity
         just wishing for safety
         to be protected

i drown myself in silence
         just itching for monologue
         to be heard

i bury myself in poetry
         just longing to be read
         to be noticed
