"Has the moon lost her memory? " (Barbara Streissand)
Are you singing yourself to sleep tonight?
Your steps, tired of the pavement, hesitate.
Your eyelashes are going down.
In your world, on your way, is it too late?

The moon is resting on a rocking chair
Sharing fairy tales with the ginger-bread stars.
And moonlight and marigolds and treasures and pearls-
They all belong to the same beating heart
And everything makes sense.
The moon is resting in your palm

Tomorrow, you will find your way,
You'll steal a rainbow to make butterflies.
Tomorrow, you'll reach out for the sun
But until then- are you singing the moon to sleep tonight?
