A poem dedicated to a friend who passed away recently.
Life is short
Everyone can see that
Though when one is torn away
We can’t help it
We cry

We take life for granted
Thinking we can live forever
Thinking we are invincible
We aren’t
We die

The Human race is feeble
Unable to cope
We put our emotions on our sleeves
We can’t tell the truth
We lie

We resort to violence
To War
And to death
We can’t handle it, but
We try

Though one life is lost
Another flame is snuffed
We all live on
Unable to shut down
In life we trust
