AHH! ALIENS! Now that I've got your attention... This poem is about God and me. Enjoy!
MY FATHER AND ME

I walked through the darkness in both day and night,

And, on my way, stumbled because I lacked light.

My blind eyes were weary, my heart, filled with woe,

When the Lord came to guide me with love’s brilliant glow.

I didn’t feel worry, I didn’t feel fear,

For my God and my savior was standing so near.

I will walk with Him always and stay by His side,

I will never stray from Him, my Father and guide.

He does not demand worship, does not demand love,

But He sends His to all on the wings of a dove.

He will have mine forever, and this I do know.

Without God, hate arrives on the wings of a crow.

He will save me from evil and fiery hell,

Where, beneath all the brimstone, the devil does dwell.

Yes, God promised me that if I did as He said,

He’d bring me to his kingdom to live when I’m dead.

For my life, we’ll be walking, my hand in His hand,

The He’ll take me to Heaven, the true promised land.

As we stand on the shore of that glittering sea,

It’ll just be my Father, my Father and me.
