Nothing can stay whole forever
Now Here and then Gone

A robin’s egg
Though broken,
undone by time,
by claws and beaks
It shivers in my hands.
A half consumed ellipsoid
Carved out from a summer day’s untainted sky
Finest and fragile,
Light to my hands
Heavy to my eyes,
It anchors my gaze
In a dream of its wholeness.
