This is a sorry first try for a Shakespearean Sonnet. The orginal prompt: Two People
The both of you came down from heaven above,
No one had ever offered me love before.
You were special to me and will always be,
you were the family I had been looking for.
I grew up always knowing I had your love,
when I needed you, you were always around.
You were the ones that I had thought so much of,
You were the best parents God could have found.
You stood by me, when I made a bad mistake,
when you were gone, you were always on my mind.
As a child, I was too much for you to take,
No parents for me of any other kind.
If you had not been here for the pleasant things,
you could not protect me from cruelty's sharp stings.
