it's pretty self-explanatory and can relate to many different types of relationships.
it's my life, tell me
how to lead it.
it's my pain, tell me
how it feels.
it's my heart, tell me
how the beat sounds.

they're my tears,
and i'll tell you
they're heavy,
and i'll let you know
i grew fine.

let's dictate and meditate
on how i make difficult
your new over-easy.

let's curse and rehearse.
the instructions weren't clear;
how do you assemble me?

it's my mind, tell me
how does it work.
it's my blood, tell me
how to make it run.
they're my thoughts, love
they're my mistakes, too.
if you knew what's best
explain why there's this.

some words without meaning;
an emotion without healing;
you told me what's missing
and i begged you to listen.

a beginning with no end;
a song that plays in reverse;
i'm the in between.
i'm who you didn't expect.
i am the one you love
but refuse to accept.
