Something new...
“One-Conditional Love”

We tripped and fell too many times
We traveled very far
We crawled through so much grime
To take us where we are

Family and friends they fell behind
They failed us one by one
It was such a simple line.
They crossed. And now they’re done.

We love them still and so we wait
A place they yet may earn.
In hope some day they'll take the bait
and give love in return.

We hold out hope that they may be
Better than they are
Until that day we’ll wait and see
And let them travel far.

The whole is strengthened by its parts
Our power comes from we
My happiness is found in them
And theirs is found in me.

I am the me I want to be
This is the life we live
Here is the world we tried to see
These are the gifts we give.
