Seize freedom from the mindset of hunger, fear, and rage.
Defiance
By celebrimbria

Neglect’s a bitter pill;
Anger’s tough to chew,
Why complain of crying
When it’s all there is to do?
Feed the foolish cycle,
Lead the silly song,
Learn that love is only
For the stupid and the strong,
Asking only riddles,
Expecting only lies,
Strolling empty streets
Beneath the smoky skies,
Force-fed all the choices,
Choking on the flood,
Seas of endless voices
Crying out for blood—
Blood that has no purpose,
Loved for what it buys,
Unholy grail of forces,
Breaking each who tries
To seek another meaning,
To live a different life,
To find another future,
To throw away the knife;
They’re blocking every outlet,
They’re barring every door,
So snatch at silver keys
And dare to long for more;
Fling away the curtain,
Cut away the cage,
Seize freedom from the mindset
Of hunger, fear, and rage.
