Why do I feel like a pawn in some sort of game,
Feel that I’m being used?
Dare I trust you?

Why does something within warn me that something is awry,
Something I have no clue of?
Dare I trust you?

Why do my instincts send out a warning,
And why do I feel it should be heeded?
Dare I trust you?

Why do I feel the sudden need to steer clear,
That I’m being played for a fool?
Dare I trust you?

If my intuition is inaccurate,
Then why are the signals sent?
Dare I trust you?
Do I even want to?
