This is basically about conformity. Yuck.
In a world of conformity and expectations
How can anyone really be unique?
From the moment you're born
The idea of "being yourself" is drilled into your head
Yet somehow most of us manage to end up exactly like the rest of us.
The clothes you wear
The music you listen to
Your most recent drama-filled teenage incident
Do not make you who you are.
Your hopes and dreams,
Your fears and flaws,
Your achievements and your falls,
The way you live your life,
And the way you wish you lived your life
Are part of what makes you, you.
No one else is you.
No one else will ever be you.
So make the best of yourself
Just be the person you want to be.
