A poem exploring the paradoxes of a man falling in love with a woman.
Sometimes things are so hard to describe
Sometimes the only description is to cry
But what happens when the tear ducts run dry?
Along with the throat
To the point that expression begins to hurt
Eloquently and articulantly pressed for words
Lost in the abyss that is reserved
For all those lovesick fools that know
Love is the ultimate foe
She came, she chilled, and then she left
Left with the man's heart terribly cleft
All because of the actions of the boy
The youngster who saw the need to emulate the emotionally void
Now the man begins to feel the wrath
While the powers that be begin to laugh because they know
Love is the ultimate foe
Paradoxically associated with an enemy (love)
Inconsistently companioned with an adversary (love)
Another victim to the reasons of the heart
Twas doom, defeat from the start
And it was all because of love
And I wouldnt have it any other way, ya know?
Love is the ultimate foe
