Oh, How I've Feared to Be Here!

I hear I have a talent
For saying things,
Pinning words on wings,
That I know I ought
To be using.

I fear I have a talent
For parlor tricks
And playful wits,
And little else
Of significance.

Learning here,
Though it may take years
Of listening when it's hard to hear,
I hope to quiet that nagging fear
And simply get on
With my writing career.
