Vindictive and yet sad...
Writing in Vain

If words were harsh enough to draw
A picture of my pain,
They'd be falling on this paper now,
With the strength of angry rain.

And if sentences were strong enough
To make you see how much I'm hurt
I'd write so much, I would collapse;
All my strenghth I would exert.

And if books were powerful enough
To make you cry the tears I cry,
There would be no one on Earth today
Whose eyes were cold and dry.

But there is no way to show you,
No way to make you see.
There are no words, nor sentences,
No books to show you me.

So here I am - suffering,
For the past; for me; for you.
While you live on, I wait.
The words will someday break through.

And then you'll know what I went through
Then, you'll feel the pain.
And when the day comes that you're sorry
My writing won't have been in vain.
