This is a song, actually...
Verse 1
How long have we
known each other
How many times
Have I trusted you?
We were girls
We were fun
You were quiet
What happened to you?

Sweet summer songs
Came and went
My old friends disappeared
And left something for me
New people that I don’t know
Hiding in shadows
Staying from the light
One doesn’t see

Chorus
My friends are but
Shadows of yesterday
My relationships on earth
Are never here to stay
But I always know
That there’s One person
Who will never change
Who will always listen
To what I have to say

Verse 2
(spoken)Where to begin
Oh, where to begin

I guess I’ll start
With one of perfection
Fun and friendly
Yet amazing concentration
Fell for her foe
We were pulled apart
I don’t have to tell you
The pain in my heart

Chorus

Verse 3
(spoken)As if that weren’t enough…

We had class together
Just last year
At first she was nice
But the mask became sheer
She isn’t that nice
I wonder if it’s me
But I know deep down
That it was never meant to be

Chorus

Have you really changed
Or is this still you?
Were you really like this,
But I never knew?
The more I learn
The less I get
I guess innocence just
Came and went

Chorus

You’ll always listen
To what I have to say
