A tiny tale of terror... Tinted with rhyme.
In the Closet, Under the Bed

A creak, a groan,
Are you really all alone?
A mirror, a reflection,
A slight glimpse of imperfection.
All the terrors of your past
In your whole break free at last.

Fleeting dreams, coated black,
He feasts upon what it is you lack.
Foul temptation with sight no more,
In the darkness, behind the door,
In the closet, under the bed,
This is where your light should dread.

In the dark for him to break,
All alone with a soul to take.
Make no noise for he will hear,
Preying on prevalent fear.
This boogeyman has no peace
Without a life to release.

A shudder, a roar,
You hear the opening door.
Your nerves, so dead,
Feel stirring under the bed.
A faint-heard prayer,
You know that something’s there.
A smile, faint fear,
You feel him drawing near.
A shriek, a moan…
Are you sure you’re all alone?
