Staring right back, a lie through the glass.
Staring right back

A lie through the glass

See the eyes

And fake veracity

Shattered before light

Until you turn around

And it’s back

A cause at the heart

Scrape it up with your nails

Cut through with a knife

Laughing, as crimson drops of fallacy

Stream out from beneath

And the cloying scent of darkness

Wafts through

The head listens

The heart hears

And the plea is ignored

Once again

It contorts

Gnawing on the insides

Swallowed by a lie

By a mask

And back to the heart, despondency

Flows through veins of ice

The darkness comes

In shadows

Lingering on your heart

Bleakness everywhere

Lifeless inside

Like all the rest

A twisted laugh

A screwed-up smile

And another deadpan look

You’ve felt the cracks

Too late

You’ve already snapped

The noise thuds through

Yet no one hears the sound

Reality echoes around

And flies by out the door

Disregarded, ignored

Unseen

Another inwards sigh

Another lie

Another fist through your reflection

You pick up the pieces

But they don’t fit together, anymore

Listen to the silence

As they build a wall

Around your heart

Each time they try to enter

A fence of glass slices through

Piercing your heart

You lie and you lie

Hell, you even try the truth

To blank and empty stares

The air burns

With unsaid messages

And while you know they were spoken

You guess they weren’t meant

To be heard

It’s so hollow

And you try to grasp

At meaningless concepts

To fill the emptiness you feel

In your soul
