A sonnet that I wrote for English class.
I fell asleep and dreamed of you last night,
A dream I'd not imagine to come true.
I could feel the wings of my heart take flight,
At once when I thought of nothing but you.
In my dream, there was no one to be found.
Just the two of us in the warm night air,
The moon was shining bright and full and round,
And on my sleeve my emotions were bare.
We sat so close I could feel your heart beat.
You were the twinkle that lit up my eyes.
Under the stars where two lovers should meet,
It was not a dream I'd soon realize.
I woke up from my sleep to see your face.
