It seems today, more now than ever, this happens a lot.
Someone who cares is left behind
Frozen from you and broken in time
You turn it off like day into night
And wait for your window to shine with light

Lifting her hopes on all your behalf
And ask her to dance with the spirit of the past
Turning away to strive in the dark
You’ve done a blight thing and broken her heart

Savor your health for it will follow the wearer
Of someone who loved you from an old love letter
He’s done it again and posed as the broken
Striping you bare as a one night token

Life isn’t fair for those who wear it
And the past won’t leave except for those who undress it
Left you, another, to quench his lust
destroying his dignity for a night of fake trust

Years of crying kindle their way to a halt
Never seeing him again until your thrown to your vault
Pale as grim to wonder his days
Sleeping on stones to just feel his gaze

Ran like wind, life has spread fast
Letting no one know how long it dare last
Down on her knees she takes her last breath
Riffling in clouds for hopes she can't rest

Wishing one’s touch would come back from his leave
He never wanted more than a relaxing summer eve
