A love poem for my infant son.
I watch him for a little while,
my tiny lamb,
my tender child.
What wondrous evil he will see.
Dark Heaven meets a darker sea.

Black waves repeat Omaga's pattern,
unceasingly the shore battered.
Does it matter? The words that tumble
in a fast falling faithless grumble
from my mouth. It can't be altered,
tides wax, wane and never falter.

My glorious Lord I pray to you,
what is it you would have me do?
Can I restrain the blackened tide?
Can I resist it's blackened bind?
Odious ocean unwieldy, wild
waiting to capture my tender child.

Upon the sullen sea's striking ways
I mediate. But wait! Sun's rays
lovely, warm, morning is coming
spectacular white clouds adorning.

The sun's rays penetrate the deep.
And while my faithful child sleeps,
The golden light converts the sea,
to everlasting majesty.
