Description of the fire-bringer
Fire Giver
Georgiana Bowley

I, Prometheus, bring fire to mankind.
I am a spark in the blood of man,
dry, hot, vigorous;
I am explosions in dust;
a whirling spark;
I strain..

Glint of steel
forged in blood,
alone I sit;
motionless, I sit like an altar of fire.

In the blood I spark--aye--
like a jewel thieved from the hock of a swine,
from the eye of my bride,
gleaming dry worlddust.

In the cities I flash,
clash nervously,
cold on felons' fingers.
I swish through the world
like a temple of dust;
goatlike I rear, erect, godchaos.

Fire am I, and stillness
in the whirling histories,
fixed like a flash in the flesh,
caught in my prime to seethe in slime,
reeling.

I am like shattering crystals
screeching high sound of siren, alarum:
"Let's die, die, while we're high, high"--
embrocations of slime, cutgems,
carbonslut, merciless majesty,
underling of nothing,
villain of the void,
prism in prison.
