From the eyes of a bird
Silently observing all below me as I soar the billowy skies,
I see the destructive, abusive ways of the humans inhabiting the Earth,
Hear their cries for peace that remain unheard,
Though I can do nothing, I’m only a bird

I see all, but cannot question why
I’ve formed opinions, yet cannot voice them
Still I cry out, hoping to be heard,
Though I can do nothing, I’m only a bird

I soar the open skies in the hope of finding a place where things are different, complete,
But thus far my travels have been for naught
Some may think me crazy, the idea a trifle absurd,
For yes, I’m only a bird

But a living creature am I,
Just as you and your kind
Created by God to wander this Earth.
I must thank him that I’m only a bird
