Waiting for something that's not there.
As I stood there waiting,

I could feel drops of rain touch my skin,

A drop of pure sadness from my soul.

The black night,

And only a dim lit street light to comfort my sorrow.

As it downpoured,

I felt the rain drops dripping down my face.

My hair wet and shading my face.

I could wait no longer for him to arrive.

I felt the sadness of the rain drops dripping down my freckled face.

Or was it my own tears,

smothering my face with water.

It wasn't from the sky.

It was from my very own heart,

And nothing could stop it.
