About my realistic (cough) aspirations. You can't say i don't dream.
When I said
That I wanted
To,
In the future
Bring the truth back into politics
And save the world in the blink of one eye-lid
I heard peals of sardonic laughter

When I said I wanted
To light the stars
And play,
A munchkin in a black and white
Wizard of Oz
You told me that I was too tall but
Would never be tall enough

When I told friends
That I wanted
You.
People told me that
I'd think better of it later
That you were too old and too wise for me.
That I couldn't and didn't understand you and who
You were,
And how you thought and how I thought
You kissed
Then it was my turn to laugh
Because you did not know how much I knew already.
