Native American spiritual experience
         "I See Old Ones"

Behind my closed eyelids,
I see Old Ones;
Ancients pressed upon
curtains of all that's
past, present, and yet to come.

Behind my closed eyelids,
I hear Red voices;
Grandfathers whispered truths
pierced, withered, and choked
through corridors of time.

Behind my closed eyelids,
I travel suspended;
Grandmothers stood poised
stoic, unmasked, and parched
between dreams of mine.
