A contemporary piece i wrote about the rise and fall of relations
She opens the door and smiles at him.

"Hello," he says.

"Hello," she replies.

"May I come in?" he asks, as he steps into the hall.

She turns without a word and begins to climb the stairs.

He follows her steps, his own but one behind, as the stairs spiral upwards and on and on and on she climbs.

Until finally she stops.

He continues and comes to stand one step above. Bending he puts his lips to hers and they kiss; a slow and graceful kiss. As the kiss draws to a close, he brings up both his hands.

He places one on each of her shoulders. His lips withdraw. His eyes hold hers. He smiles and says;

"I love you."

Then pushes her down the stairs.
