join poems that give insight on two of my characters
Loyalty and Passion

Bound and cursed, my darling,
In this darkness intertwined,
Forever we will lie,
Shattered shards of memory,
break upon my tears,
Burning prison, searing souls.

Bound and chained, my darling,
Unseeing eyes strain to see,
All-seeing memories,
Your loyalty to me,
With only that can I be saved.

Cursed and torn, my darling,
This passion burns my heart,
Our blindfolds are painful to see,
In this never ending eternity,
This darkness encages us.

Chained and broken, my darling,
I resign to my fate,
Tonight I will die in your arms, or,
I will die by your hands today.

(Authors note: I received many emails saying the last lines were too drastic, so I decided to explain the speaker's relationship with her husband. The speaker, as stated in the poem, is cursed, doomed to be reincarnated over and over and repent for her crimes. She also has the tendency to loose control of herself. At this point she is losing herself more frequently, and she knows she is nearing the end of her life. She realizes that she might totally loose control of herself before she dies and hurt innocents in this state. Thus, she asks her husband to kill her if that happens. There you have the explanation of the last two lines. Also, please do not rate or review based on this note, just the poem itself. Thank you for reading.)

Dark Angel

Silver hair and innocent emerald eyes,
Dance about as limbs twirl and pure white wings unfurl,
Gentle melodies sung into the air sway along the wind,
A naive heart joyfully beats.
Kindly.

Her healing hands mend the largest wounds,
From the great battle, warriors have gained.
Demon and angel alike she cares for them,
And befriends them.
Secretly.

Red-eyed friend seeks protection,
Thrown into battle she defends him.
Simple action turns into a terrible sin.
That perpetuates itself by taste.
Painfully.

Angel blood most irrational, Irresistible drug,
Accidentally tasted by one's own kind,
Drive the addict mad, craving more,
Ten thousand dead before it's all said and done.
Regrettably.

Seized for crimes committed of desire most foul,
The punishment will be a heavy price,
Silver hair once, now darkest black,
Restless, sorrowful violet eyes look on,
Shatteringly.

Void-black wings drag the ground,
As ebony-black feathers litter the sky,
Forced into an eternity of shame and demise,
No gentle touch will ever ease the pain,
Still No forgiveness can be made.
Truly.

Forever stretches on into an eternal dawn,
Mind begins to decay to the point of the crime of that day,
Death, come swiftly please,
A moment of a brief conclusion, before it begins again.
Endlessly.

Born anew still soaked in blood,
A flood of Memories from ancient times,
Personality twisted from eternal years,
Beautifully gentle, cunningly insane, and forever damned.
Dark angel.

Forbidden

A black feather falls,
Returns to dust,
Before the ground it can touch,
A distant voice calls,
Silently.

Chains of judgment past,
Future movement inhibit,
Descending rain begins
Dancing and splashing about,
Laughing.

The rain deafening,
The call drowned,
A hand drifts near,
Amidst the blinding rain,
Gently.

Raging shackles wash away,
Fading thoughts scream to stay,
Grasping at this caring hold,
I was released this way,
Eternally.
