The true measure of a person comes from within.
The way the world operates
the way the world turns
Its measure of a man
leaves much to be desired
so much to be unlearned
The thickness of a wallet
the title that one bears
The Rolex on the wrist
the style that one wears
All superficial tendencies
that show just how unaware
The true measure of a man
lies in the way he touches you
When he caresses with his hands
just the way you do
The way he listens with his heart*Heart*
as you speak through pain
The way he looks you in the eye
you can never be the same
The way he smiles as he laughs
& makes you join in, too
You're cracking up together
just the way that we do
Be it over drool & cookies
or Casper the Friendly Ghost
The true measure of a man
is what defines you most
All that you are
All that you do
I find that no man
measures up to you.
