Poem about a girl seeking to find her true self in God.
Looking through her eyes
Wondering what will I find that lies
Lies behind her hazel eyes
Staring intently thoughts begin to rise
What is she hiding behind those eyes
Is she just in a guise
Or is she what she appears to be though my eyes

I see her walking day by day
Going on a endless journey somewhere grand
Far away from here I see her stray
So what exactly is her plan
Maybe she just needs to pray
Pray to God to show her His way
She realizes she doesn’t need to rely on man

Looking through her eyes I see,
Her staring back at me
Is this girl just pretending to be,
To be free
But does she know who holds the key
The key to make her free
She knows God is thee

I think she’s just confused
Not sure of what she will do
Or maybe she has just been badly bruised
Bruised by her own view
A view of her own fused
But she is being made new
And she will soon be used

Day by day she’s coming out
Out of the hell she has made for herself
Believing without a doubt
That through Jesus she can find her true self
Not believing all the lies about,
The life she has made for herself
But she is beginning to sprout

I see that she is beginning to die,
To die to the things she once knew
She is really starting to cry
To cry for the things that are true
She knows where the answers lie
And she is being made new
She is taking the form of a beautiful butterfly

This girl I talk about is no longer a girl
She has become a woman of God
Her life is no longer a whirl
She no longer thinks it to be odd
I see that she’s no ordinary college girl
God has sent her his rod
And the swine can’t have her pearl

I am looking at this women now
Wondering where she will go
All that matters is that she made a vow
A vow to be holy like God and glow
To glow like the One she knows
On her knees she takes a bow
To be like Jesus and grow

The seed that has been planted years ago
Is beginning to take root
No longer will I hear a woe
But the song of a melodious flute
For she will begin to grow
From the branches growth of fruit
And living water begins to flow

Looking at her eyes I perceive
The reason they are staring back at me
Now I hope that I believe
Believe this women to be free
Free of the chains that I have received
Now I can no longer hide the key
For He truly freed me and I am relieved

Standing here now looking at my reflection
Where shall my life be led
Wherever I go I know He will give me direction
And every morning before I jump out of bed
I will praise Him and give Him affection
You see He lives now and I am dead
Dead in my sin but alive through His resurrection

As this poem goes it will go on
Untill the day I see Him face to face
For He has already won
He won so I could take my place
In this life I will follow after Jesus Christ God's Son
Running never stopping until I win the race
Untill I get to hear him say "Well Done!"
