A poem of struggles
Real Me

This is who I am.
With labels I am christened.
this is the real me, so
please, just listen.

You ask what happened to the girl who had fun.
Now, let me tell you, there never was one.

You question my choices, but they are mine.
You have no reason to invade my mind.

As my feeling boil over
a monster is unleashed,
a wild animal,
to whom lessons can't be preached.

I walk my own path.
I dance to my own beat.
I am somebody now,
but your words still cut deep.

I've overcome the clone you made me.
My mind is clear of shame.
I now reflect the child that begged to be free.
My fears fade away like a dancing flame.

Next time you see me,
you will find,
I am much the same girl
only with a new goal in mind.

I've decided to take over.
after all, it is my life.
I've cut out old worries with my sharpened knife.
