A poem about loneliness
Revised version

Expressions of loneliness disguise the truth inside.
Only a select few could understand.

My facade is like the cover of an unfamiliar book
as unspoken judgments are made from a glance.

Open the pages to unlock and expose
revealing chapters containing the nakedness of my heart.

Satisfied with the supportive cast of loved ones
leads to pure contentment that is real.

Rejecting what was, I embrace a new emotion
and erase the moments of seclusion in exchange for peace.

The Original Piece

Inside were feelings of loneliness,
like only a select few understood.

In the company of a loved one
pure contentment, above all, should be real.

Like a closed book of information,
what you see is not always what you get.

Open the pages, explore and learn,
discover the hidden place of my heart.

Something old … with it, do something new.
Loneliness of one is consumed of joy within.
