A poem on the subject of change.
Threshold

Scarlet hand waves past 70K,
Wavers in sync with the dashboard display,
Stick shifting inches
Left,
Inches right,
And the chassis dancin’
With all its might.

Although eyebrows
Cool
Soothe eyes
Too
Wide,

Vibrations drown his
Passenger’s doubt.

Wider left,
Wider right,
Resonant frequencies compound their sight
To double vision’s common groove,

Keep pushin’ it, Baby,
Just watch ‘em move!

Climactic peaks,
One’s panic calls
Till at eighty
They echo
Through the jeep’s now still walls…

Red-faced,
As if,
From a nightmare
Awoken,

Passenger spies
Driver’s smile
Unbroken,

Smooth as a Baby’s
Easy cliché,
Cruisin’ on cushions of cloud.
