Dysfunctional? Know it's cry as coming from one defective, and it may not seem so wrong.
DEFECTIVE

She hates herself.
Who she is.
What she is.
That she is.

Will I ever change? Will I ever live,
The kind of life He died to give?

Who she is:
Seemingly shy, 'n seemingly sweet,
underneath, someone you don't wanna meet.
Covering her ugliness with kind words and a smile,
Don't get to close or you'll realize her guile.

Will I ever change? Will I ever live,
The kind of life He died to give?

What she is:
Deceitful, a mask, a fake.
Selfish, self-serving, self-preserving.
Unstable, insecure, unsure.
Pathetic, dependent, weak.
Looked over, un-popular, insignificant,
Prideful, indignant,
Rash, foolish, unwise.

Will I ever change? Will I ever live,
The kind of life He died to give?

That she is:
Salty tears many times she's cried
Wishing, as a child, that she had died
Wanting to escape, but not knowing how.
Knowing only that she's stuck for now.

Will I ever change? Will I ever live,
The kind of life He died to give?

She hates herself.
Who she is.
What she is.
That she is.
