Explores why imperfection may be intentionally idealized in a relationship.
Idealized, Idolized
High upon the pedestal
You built for her.
In that precarious predicament
the pendulum swings
from peace to pain
and all points in between.

You see the swing,
Predictable unpredictability,
between life and love
faith and family
hope and home
and He who sees all things.

Yet there she stays,
in that place
high above you
and those around you.

Is her touch softer?
Is her kiss sweeter?
Is her wrath kinder?
Will she welcome you in
or turn you away
when the pendulum swings
again?

Is it any matter
when in your eyes she is imperfect.
And in her eyes you are free
to be
low.
