Being cleansed/freed by the rain. Spiritual.
The Rain

The rain beats on the roof top -
calling me to come outside,
I lay there in the darkness -
with all my pain & fears to hide.

I rise and dress then go to
the door - it’s pouring harder still,
I open the door and venture out -
the night gives me a chill.

The porch protects me from the
rain - as I watch the raindrops fall,
The wind is blowing gently now -
whistling as if to call,

Come out into the rain it says -
I’ll cleanse your heart and mind,
Come out and let God’s tears touch
you - and then my friend you’ll find,

You no longer have to hide your
pain - your spirit will be free,
Come out into the rain dear child -
come out and I’ll comfort Thee.

I walked slowly down the steps -
and as the rain soaked my skin,
My fears and pain broke free from
me - and my tears they did begin.

As the rain fell so did my tears -
they blended together as one,
And then a sudden peace came over
me - the rain stopped, the storm was done.

A smile managed to appear - as
I looked up in the sky,
And thanked the Lord for being there -
to protect me so I could cry.

For before that night I feared my
tears - would only show that I was weak,
And I would not let them fall at
all - but things were getting bleak.

And just at my darkest hour -
when I could no longer deal with the pain,
God started crying for all my
sorrow and that brought the rain.

It cleansed my heart and mind -
just like He said it would,
Now I can go on living life -
and believe that it is good.
