I wrote this poem 6 years before 9/11. The final stanza is a tad chilling..
From atop a willow
Can we observe
The earth' transgression
Toward a fatal curve

Straight and true
Was the endearing path
Of our existence
And God's Wrath

Through what we believed
Were noble deeds
Comes a definitive judgment
Upon which evil feeds

This domain shall perish
Sum of a thousand strifes
An event no man foresaw
Sans saints and poets alike

And from atop a willow
We cast an eye toward heaven
And spy three doves...
