A poem I wrote about a lover torn between two.
Quiet nights jaded by the grey sky.
The stars - they lie in silent hiding
Just like us, beneath a blanket of black.
My soul is yours with which to play,
To string me along until
This night unravels with the dawn.
And this night must meet the dawn.
This black blanket will never be white,
And these stars never free
From their confines.
When your heart lies with one,
We can cast aside this cover,
Unlock the clear sky,
Dance a little dance with those stars.
Only you can paint the world around us.
And I will wait for the pastels.
But, until then, these quiet nights
Remain jaded by the grey sky.
