A short poem dedicated to my wife, who keeps me alive.
That Night in 1963
By Donald C. Brown

The dying sun turned the clouds gold
Until the brilliant stars turned them black.
The croaking frogs sang in the night
And the chirping crickets answered back.

The stillness of the fading light
Did not disturb our reverie.
You were there and you would share
The beauty of your soul with me.

Now time has flown, our youth is gone,
But that night I still can see.
You were there and you have shared
Your golden life with me.
