My sonnet about being forgiven.
Into the bubbling cauldron of deceit
to torment and resent ev'ry beauty
that ever was. To destroy and defeat
is the demon's singular sworn duty.

Into mistrust's evil, boiling cauldrons
which cook and simmer the meat of the soul
until it falls eas'ly from steaming bones
never to be as vibrant again. Roll

and tumble in a tragic, awful soup
Odorous and fowl. Sprinkle and season
the cooking mixture. Stir the simmered goop.
Add a cup of forgiveness and reason

Boil away all that would be malicious
and enjoy a love so sweet, delicious.
