Looking into the eyes of someone you love who is in pain...
River Clear

Muddled eyes
Swell up with the rain.
Mud of the past rising to the surface.
Rocky underneath,
All of the pain.

I can’t see my reflection
In those river clear eyes
Missing the lucidity of the days gone by.
Eyes mean now with false perception
Your muddled eyes,
River-clear eyes.
