A mothers surpressing love for her daughter.
I Told You

I told you...
Your desire to touch all of the stars impossible,
Because they're so much larget than they seem
And they're spread so far, so wide, and are so unstable.
You know, when you get there, they will no longer gleam.
It would be better to stay here, with me, at my table.
Here, let me help you sew up your seam...

I told you...
Your wish to touch the hearts of others was foolish.
You do know, that after not long, yours will be gone?
Because everyone elses hearts are so ghoulish.
It's best to sit here without even one.
Best to sit here with me and eat this wish.
Than to break your heart with someone elses son..

I told you...
Your silly need to feel unlimited power is dumb.
There will always be one who wihes to rebel
You'll never keep anyone under your thumb,
Not even for the shortest spell.
It's better to sit here with me in this slum,
Than to risk anything for possible hell.

I told you...
I told you not to fulfill your dreams.
I told you what would happen if you did.
But you went, and found the world is not as it seems.
Found that the world never does as you bid...
And so I bid you farewel, Maureen reams.
And lay your loved body down where it's now hid.

I told you..
I told you.......
I told you....
