About a love lost
The memory of you still lingers,
causing my soul to bruise.
I thought we would be forever;
I didn't intend to lose.

That blistery cold fall day, when
you said that we were through,
I was so shocked that I just stood and
stared at you.

You were different that tragic day,
I could tell it in your eyes;
your thoughts came alive, revealing
those decieving lies.

I ran away feeling completely numb;
starting to realize that I had been blind and dumb.

I sat in my room for days, contemplating my
faults that drove you away. I had thought that
you would always be mine until that day.

That was the day my entire world changed-
the day that the color left my world and turned
completely gray.

I finally fell asleep; exhausted from all
of my crying. My dreams carried me to
a place where I don't have to worry about
that day or your lying.
